ANTIBIOTICS w/ CKD
Please see UTI for ABX treatment in CKD/HD and antibiotics for AKI from ABX.
LIFE EXPECTANCY w/ CKD
A large Canadian study of >1,500,000 total, showed men and women aged 40 years had a life expectancy of 30.5 and 34.6 years at eGFR ≥ 60 mL/min, 24.5 and 28.7 years at eGFR 45–59 mL/min, 14.5 and 16.5 years at eGFR 30–44 mL/min and 10.4 and 9.1 years at eGFR 15–29 mL/min, respectively. Life expectancy was longer for women compared with men at all ages and eGFR categories, other than for eGFR 15–29 mL/min/1.73 m2 where there was no difference in life expectancy by gender.(1)
RESIDUAL URINE OUTPUT & HD
A 2011 study of 734 showed baseline urine output at time of HD was not associated with OS but was associated with QOL. However, urine output amount on year 1 was associated with all cause mortality and lower EPO dosage.

IMAGING WITH ESRD AND CKD
One study showed a 2.4% risk for NSF for MRI with contrast in ESRD (3)
PSA in HD
Free PSA (28kDa) elevated in HD. complexed PSA is not elevated in HD b/c 90kDa protein too large
