TURP
Post op TURP retention is higher in patients with DM. (1) One study showed of nursing home patients with foley catheters who underwent TURP, only 4% were voiding and not requiring foley post operatively at 1 year with 64% still catheter dependent and 32% dead. (2)
One study found median lobe only TURP found ejaculatory dysfunction in 2.6% of patients. (3) A small study of 66 men found 14% had post operative ED after TURP. (4)
