IPP
COMPLICATIONS
One 2019 systemic review found most frequently reported infection rate for inflatable devices was 5% or less. (4) Case series of 21 IPP with glans necrosis showed most cases included a subcoronal incision for concomitant circumcision or degloving with symptoms presenting as early as 1 day. Those who underwent immediate implant removal healed well, those who had implant left in place had significant glans loss. (1)
In salvage, a study of 40 patients showed immediate reimplantation resulted in a mean 0.6cm corporal length reduction while delayed reimplantation resulted in a mean 3.7cm reduction. (2)
A 2020 study looked at following recommended antiboitics prophylaxis vs other. (5)
IPP AFTER RADIATION
A study of SEER patients who recieved RT alone vs. RP alone showed that RT did not impact revision or removal rates of IPP compared to RP w/o RT. (3)
